Pacific Fusion’s latest prototype packs 440 gigawatts into an 80-nanosecond burst

Pacific Fusion says a smaller pulser prototype delivered 440 gigawatts in an 80-nanosecond burst, meeting key scaling targets for its planned full system.

The test unlocked another tranche of the company’s more than $1 billion Series A funding.

Construction on Pacific Fusion’s demonstration fusion power plant is expected to begin this summer.

The company is pursuing inertial confinement fusion with 156 pulser modules, aiming for eventual facility breakeven.
