iOS, macOS, and iPadOS 26.5 updates arrive with encrypted RCS messaging and more

Apple rolled out version 26.5 across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and HomePod software.

The update introduces beta end-to-end encryption for RCS in supported carrier networks, marking Apple’s first encrypted RCS support.

It also adds new wallpapers, early groundwork for Apple Maps ads, and EU-specific wearable compatibility changes.

Apple says the release includes security fixes alongside the feature updates.
