Efforts are underway to port the open-source Radeon driver to Windows

Collabora engineers have advanced efforts to run Mesa’s open-source Radeon Vulkan driver, RADV, on Windows.

They successfully demonstrated Counter-Strike 2 rendering via Vulkan, with Valve backing the research and related code released publicly.

The work is still experimental and not yet a stable production-ready driver.

If it matures, it could bring an open-source Vulkan implementation for AMD GPUs to Windows and expand driver choice and portability.
