Android’s desktop OS for ‘Googlebook’ leaks with basic features, virtual desktops, terminal [Video]

Mystic Leaks posted screenshots and a 16-minute video of Google’s unreleased AluminiumOS running in a virtual machine on a MacBook Pro.

The Android 17-based desktop OS shows desktop app placement, folder creation, virtual desktops, a terminal, quick settings, notifications, and a task manager.

The leak suggests Google is testing a new laptop platform that could blend Android and ChromeOS for future “Googlebook” devices.

It offers an early look at Google’s desktop strategy and the features it may borrow from ChromeOS.
