Anthropic says it’s about to have its first profitable quarter

Anthropic reportedly told investors it expects second-quarter revenue to more than double to about $10.9 billion.

The company also said it will post its first operating profit, boosted by rapid growth in Claude usage and expansion into small-business and legal customers.

Analysts note the profitability could be short-lived because of large scheduled compute spending later this year.

The report adds to pressure on OpenAI, coming the same day as reports that it may soon file for an IPO.
