SF Express, Sequoia China and IDG Back Tsinghua-Spinout Humanoid Robot Unicorn

Tsinghua spinout Wujie Power closed a major new funding round led by Envision Group and the Beijing AI Industry Investment Fund.

Returning investors included Sequoia China, Linear Capital, Hillhouse Ventures, Baidu Ventures, Yunshan Capital, StarTrace and SF Express.

The company is also close to closing an additional angel-stage tranche, lifting total angel funding to over $200 million.

The deal highlights continued heavy investment in humanoid robotics and embodied AI in China, despite fierce competition in the sector.
