Apple Eyes Intel and Samsung as Backup US Chipmakers

Bloomberg says Apple has held early talks with Intel and Samsung about making its main chips in the U.S.

Apple is also looking to expand work with TSMC in Arizona as it seeks backup capacity and less dependence on Taiwan.

The move comes amid chip shortages and strong demand for some Mac models, including the Mac mini and Mac Studio.

No orders have been placed yet, and any shift away from TSMC remains uncertain because Intel and Samsung lack its scale.
