FTC sues Hims & Hers for allegedly sharing patients’ medical data with advertisers Meta and Snap

The FTC sued Hims & Hers in California federal court over alleged sharing of patient health data with ad-tech trackers.

The complaint says the telehealth company used tools from Meta, Snap and others to collect and share sensitive user information.

The FTC also alleges Hims & Hers made misleading claims about privacy and billing; the company says it will fight the case.

The lawsuit could affect how telehealth and health-app companies use advertising trackers that may expose medical data.
