Google is dropping support for almost every Chromecast except this one

Google said it is not ending support for Chromecast devices after a support-page update wrongly suggested most models had lost security-update support.

The page briefly implied only the 2022 Chromecast with Google TV (HD) remained supported, sparking concern about older Chromecast models being deprecated.

Google later clarified the listing was an error, and support for Chromecasts is still in place.

Some users also reported first-gen Chromecasts working again after recent issues.
