UK firm to extract rare earths from industrial waste using modular refining model

Silex World unveiled a modular micro-refining platform to recover rare earths and strategic metals from industrial waste and scrap.

The alkali-based, low-energy process is designed to work near recycling and manufacturing sites, including from NdFeB magnets.

The company plans to validate the system in India before expanding to the United States, Europe, and other regions.

The approach could ease dependence on concentrated refining in China, improve waste recovery, and lower supply chain emissions.
