Apple CEO Tim Cook Stepping Down, John Ternus Taking Over

Apple said Tim Cook will step down as CEO after the summer of 2026 and move to executive chairman.

Hardware engineering chief John Ternus will become CEO on September 1, 2026.

The board approved the succession plan, and Arthur Levinson will serve as lead independent director.
