Apple’s Gemini-powered Siri upgrade could still arrive this month

Apple Intelligence was unveiled at WWDC 2024, apple unveiled Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024 on June 10, 2024.

Apple deployed Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.1–18.4, apple rolled out parts of Apple Intelligence across multiple iOS 18.x releases.

Delayed the personalized Siri features by one year, apple announced a delay on March 7, 2025.

Apple and Google entered a multi-year collaboration to base Apple Foundation Models on Google’s Gemini models and cloud technology, apple and Google made a joint announcement on January 12, 2026.

Apple Intelligence will use Gemini-based models to power future features including a more personalized Siri, the joint statement named Gemini as the basis for future Apple Foundation Models.
