Microsoft laptop with Nvidia RTX Spark leaked and benchmarked before launch

A leaked Surface Laptop Ultra prototype near Microsoft’s Redmond campus was benchmarked before launch, revealing Nvidia’s RTX Spark N1X APU with 6,144 CUDA cores and a 20-core Arm CPU.

Early results showed unfinished display and driver issues, with performance that looked only modest versus Apple’s M5 Pro, but with better consistency on battery than when plugged in.

Hands-on notes praised the device’s keyboard, chassis, hinge, and touchpad, suggesting Microsoft is aiming for a premium MacBook Pro rival.

The tester estimated pricing could land somewhere between about $2,800 and $4,500.
