Hypersonic ramjet engine designing time cut from months to seconds by GE Aerospace

GE Aerospace said generative AI generated a preliminary hypersonic ramjet engine design in seconds, rather than months, while still meeting safety criteria.

The company plans to apply the tool more broadly across commercial, drone, and defense engine programs.

If successful, the approach could significantly shorten propulsion development timelines and accelerate testing of new engine concepts.
