Ministry of Finance portal still offline following cyber incident

The Mijn Schatkist portal and the treasury banking portal are offline after unauthorized access; it is unknown when the systems will be restored.

1,600 institutions — including local governments, courts and affiliated schools — cannot view balances or generate reports; participating agencies retain full access to their funds and revenues and expenditures continue via regular bank channels.

Unauthorized access was detected on 19 March and systems were taken offline on 23 March for investigation and strengthened security; minimal services are being maintained manually where needed.

Belastingdienst and Toeslagen services are not affected and continue to operate; citizens can file income tax returns and benefits are being paid on time.

Minister Eelco Heinen informed parliament but has not given further updates; staff are working day and night to resolve the incident, which is part of a wider series of recent cyber incidents affecting courts, ministries and municipalities.
