Apple Bought Color Grading Tool Color.io in January

Apple acquired Patchflyer, the one-person company behind Color.io, in January and hired founder Jonathan Ochmann.

Color.io has since shut down, and EU disclosures also show Apple bought PromptAI around the same time.

The deal could signal Apple bringing Color.io’s color-grading technology into pro apps like Final Cut Pro or Pixelmator Pro.

The acquisition adds a respected creative-tool maker to Apple’s software portfolio and may strengthen its image and video workflows.
