Google’s new Universal Cart wants to follow your entire shopping journey across the internet

Google unveiled Universal Cart at I/O, letting users gather products from Search, Gemini, YouTube, and Gmail in one place.

Google also updated its commerce and payment protocols so AI agents can help buy items or auto-check out within user-set spending limits.

Universal Cart is rolling out in the U.S. first, with broader support for more Google apps and countries to follow.

AP2 will arrive in Google products over the coming months, deepening Google’s push into AI-driven commerce.
