Google is negotiating with the U.S. Department of Defense to expand Gemini use in classified environments.

The plan would add GPU racks to Google Distributed Cloud and, for the first time, deploy TPUs in accredited classified systems.

Google is also seeking limits on mass surveillance and autonomous weapons use.

If finalized, the deal could deepen Google’s defense AI presence and bring its custom chips into secure government systems for the first time.
