Unused music files in Resident Evil Requiem have sparked fan speculation that Capcom may be planning a Mercenaries-style mode or another time-limited DLC mini-game.

The theory comes from datamined tracks with faster pacing and ticking sounds, which some fans read as clues for post-launch content.

Capcom has already said a new mini-game will arrive in May, and the game director has confirmed a larger story expansion is also in development.

If true, the files suggest Capcom is building replay-focused post-launch content and could bring back a popular Resident Evil side mode.
