Brussels has just hit Temu with its biggest fine in history under the Digital Services Act: 200 million euros

The European Commission fined Temu a record €200 million under the Digital Services Act.

Brussels said Temu failed to properly identify, assess and reduce risks from illegal and unsafe goods on its marketplace.

The EU cited evidence from mystery shopping, customs checks and market surveillance showing high rates of non-compliant products.

Officials also said Temu relied on generic risk analysis and did not fully account for recommendation tools and influencer promotions.
