Omairi Pay: Cashless Service for Temples and Shrines Launched at Ginkaku-ji

Value Design and the Kyoto Buddhist Association launched Omairi Pay, a cashless service for temples and shrines, in April.

As of April, the service is deployed at Jishoji (Ginkaku-ji), Eikando Zenrin-ji, and Shokoku-ji Shotengakukan Museum, with further rollouts planned.

The system supports major credit cards and electronic money, and will add admission fee payments in July 2026.

Transactions do not disclose individual temple or shrine names to payment providers, and participating sites and payment amounts are limited to enhance user protection.
