The DGT has a new sign to ban e-scooters on any street: Gijón is already considering installing it

Spain’s DGT has officially added the new R-118 traffic sign, which bans electric scooters and other personal mobility vehicles.

It marks the first major overhaul of road signage in more than 20 years.

Gijón is considering using the sign on certain streets to restrict scooter access.

Municipalities will decide where to deploy it, aiming to improve pedestrian safety and urban coexistence.
