Target Says Customers Bear Liability for Errors by Its Gemini-Powered Shopping Agent

Target updated its terms to say customers are responsible for purchases made by its Gemini-powered shopping agent.

The terms state transactions performed by the agent will be considered authorized by the user and users must review activity.

A Target spokesperson confirmed the language refers to the Gemini assistant and said returns remain available.

Other retailers like Walmart have made similar changes to limit liability for AI shopping agents.
