Paste Media Puts the Final Nail in the Coffin of a Storied Gaming Legacy

The A.V. Club has laid off its two full-time video games editors and cut a third role, ending full-time games coverage.

Paste Media says the site will still cover some games, but its priorities will shift more toward film and TV.

The move comes after Endless Mode was folded back into The A.V. Club, and longtime editor Garrett Martin and associate editor Elijah Gonzalez were laid off.

The cuts highlight the continued shrinkage and instability of games journalism at legacy media brands.
