Cursor updates its platform with a focus on autonomous AI agents

Cursor launched Cursor 3, an updated development environment built around autonomous AI agents.

The release provides a unified workspace where multiple agents can independently write, modify, and test code in parallel, with the ability to switch between cloud and local agents.

Multiple repositories and workspaces are consolidated into a single project view and the interface has been redesigned to center on agents.

Developers can use natural language and a chatbot-like interface to generate code, request UI changes in Design Mode, and choose which model runs each task.

Cursor has raised over $3 billion from investors including Nvidia and Google, and combines its Composer 2 model with external models (e.g., Claude) to produce code, visual outputs, and faster verification.
