Snap’s AR glasses with display reportedly beat Android XR to launch, but for $2,500

Snap is reportedly planning to launch its updated Spectacles AR glasses this fall, with a preview possible at its June AWE keynote.

The glasses are said to cost around $2,500 and could arrive before Google’s display-equipped Android XR glasses, which are not expected until 2027.

Meta’s Ray-Ban Display is already on the market, but Snap is positioning Spectacles as true AR glasses rather than a simple heads-up display.

If the report is accurate, Snap could become the first major company to ship display-equipped AR glasses ahead of Google, though the price may limit adoption.
