The European Parliament May Be Ditching Google As Its Default Search Engine

The European Parliament will reportedly switch its default search engine from Google to French engine Quant on in-house computers starting June 4.

Users will still be able to change the search engine manually.

The change is part of a wider EU effort to reduce reliance on foreign technology and strengthen digital sovereignty.

The European Commission is also preparing a sovereignty package, underscoring the bloc’s push for European tech alternatives and privacy.
