Portuguese army tests 'attack drones' in exercise with NATO countries

The Portuguese Army is testing loitering munitions, or attack drones, in the NATO exercise Strong Impact 2026.

The drills at Santa Margarida Military Camp involve personnel from Portugal, Spain, France and Romania.

Live tests are being carried out on systems developed with UAVision under a military programming project.

The effort aims to improve artillery and air-defense capabilities and expand Portugal’s domestically made precision-strike weapons.
