Will AWS customers turn back to OpenAI models? Some say, “It came too late”

AWS plans to offer OpenAI models through Bedrock, but some enterprise customers say the move changes little for them.

Many buyers already rely on Claude, Nova, Qwen, or DeepSeek, while others use OpenAI via Microsoft Azure.

Amazon also said in February that Bedrock will support OpenAI in a stateful runtime, helping AI agents keep working continuously.

The rollout matters for enterprise AI competition, but customer demand may be too fragmented for a big shift.
