Japan is seeing a sharp rise in bear attacks and sightings, with 13 human deaths reported this year.

Demand is surging for Ohta Seiki’s Monster Wolf, an animatronic deterrent that uses lights, loud sounds, and motion to scare bears away.

The company says it cannot produce enough units to keep up with orders from across affected areas.

Ohta Seiki is now considering new versions of the device, including AI-based upgrades.
