[Lee Chang-geun's Hedit] Will Seongnam Mulbit Garden be completed as a media art district?

Seongnam City unveiled a plan to build a media-art district at Seongnam Mulbit Garden, adding a projection-mapped media facade to the Music Hall and a media tunnel and photo zone at the former wastewater facility.

The project is being framed as more than a nighttime attraction: it should reflect the Tancheon otter habitat, ecological recovery, industrial memory, and visitors’ on-site experience.

The column stresses that brightness, sound, circulation, and ecological impact must be continuously monitored to strengthen the site’s public value and sense of place.

If designed well, it could become a model for urban regeneration, night tourism, and city branding; if not, it may end up as a one-off exhibition event.
