OpenAI expands cooperation with the Korean government... attention on key executives' ties to Korea

OpenAI has been selected as a partner in South Korea’s government-and-agency trust-based access (GTAC) program, with KISA handling implementation.

Participating institutions in Korea will gain access to GPT-5.5 Cyber, OpenAI’s latest cybersecurity-focused model.

South Korea becomes the third GTAC participant globally, after the U.S. and Canada, and the first in Asia alongside Japan.

The move underscores OpenAI’s deeper institutional push in Korea, strengthening its role as a key partner in security and ecosystem development.
