AI can predict your personality from chat history, study finds

ETH Zurich researchers analyzed 62,000+ ChatGPT chats from 668 users in the US and UK to predict Big Five personality traits from text.

The model worked best for agreeableness and emotional stability, and accuracy improved with longer chat histories.

The study says AI can infer personality from ordinary chat logs with up to 61% accuracy in tests.

That raises privacy concerns, since chat data could expose sensitive traits at scale and be misused for manipulation or propaganda.
