Apple launches monthly subscriptions with 12-month commitment on App Store, here’s how they work

Apple has introduced a new App Store subscription option that lets users pay an annual commitment in 12 monthly installments.

The plan is live with iOS 26.5 and also available to some iOS 26.4 users, with rules for early cancellation and failed payments.

Users can get prorated refunds when upgrading, but the option is not yet available in the US or Singapore.

The move aims to lower upfront costs while preserving annual-plan pricing and expanding subscription flexibility.
