d Points app to use a dedicated number from July as security is strengthened

NTT Docomo will switch the d Point app display number to a dedicated number separate from the plastic card starting July 1.

When using d Point in the app, the available time will be limited to five minutes to strengthen security.

The change is aimed at reducing point misuse, including abuse caused by stolen barcodes.

Separating the card and app numbers may also make it easier to roll out offers for app users.
