PayPay warned of phishing scams that trick users into sending money by posing as unpaid credit card bills, telecom charges, or taxes.

The fraud uses email and SMS links to drive victims to fake payment pages or prompt transfers through PayPay’s send/receive features.

PayPay advises users not to open links in messages and to verify any billing notices only through the official website or app.

Because mistaken transfers are not covered by compensation, checking directly in the PayPay app is important to avoid losses.
