Moose-proof and megacasting: Ars drives the new Volvo EX60

Volvo unveiled the all-electric EX60, its first model on the new SPA3 EV platform.

The SUV will offer two trims, 800V fast charging, up to 400 miles of range, and rear- or all-wheel drive.

Volvo is using megacast aluminum parts and a cell-to-body battery design to simplify production and cut costs.

Safety remains central, with engineering aimed at improving protection in severe animal-collision scenarios, including moose strikes.
