China's BOE Moves to Expand LCD Panels, Upgrades Chengdu B19 Plant

BOE will invest 2.827 billion yuan to upgrade its Chengdu B19 LCD line for ultra-large panels.

The revamped line will expand production from 100 inches to 116 inches, targeting 85- to 116-inch displays.

BOE also plans to increase oxide TFT adoption and improve refresh rate, transmittance, and power efficiency.

The move reflects Chinese LCD makers’ push to compete with OLED through larger, higher-spec, and lower-cost TV panels.
