Google TV is reportedly the #3 streaming OS in the US

A new Hub Research report puts Google TV and Android TV at 14% of the US streaming OS market, ranking third.

Roku leads with 37%, followed by Amazon Fire TV at 17%, while Google TV/Android TV beat Samsung Tizen, Apple tvOS, and LG webOS.

The result suggests Google TV has a broader footprint in US living rooms than many expected, across both TV brands and streaming devices.

The report may also include streaming players, which could help explain the higher ranking versus smart TVs alone.
