iyO’s trademark lawsuit against OpenAI and Jony Ive paused over settlement talks

iyO, OpenAI, and Jony Ive have reached an agreement in principle in their trademark and trade secret dispute.

A federal judge paused the case for seven days and vacated the hearing so the parties can finalize the settlement.

The lawsuit had raised risks for OpenAI’s hardware branding plans and broader concerns about trademarks and confidential information in AI devices.

If the settlement holds, it should end the injunction fight and remove a major legal obstacle to the product effort.
