Huawei Says It Has Connected 170 Million People in Remote Areas, Exceeding ITU P2C Pledge

Huawei announced at its TECH Cares Forum in Barcelona that it has connected 170 million people in remote areas across more than 80 countries.

The company said this figure exceeds its 2022 ITU P2C pledge to connect 120 million people by 2025.

Huawei described programs such as Skills on Wheels and the RuralCow solution, and noted partnerships with operators like MTN Nigeria.

Forum participants from governments, industry and international bodies discussed advancing digital inclusion and skills for the AI era.
