X says Supreme Court's Cox ruling should sink $250 million music piracy lawsuit

X asked a court to apply the Supreme Court's Cox v. Sony Music ruling to dismiss the remaining contributory infringement claim against it.

The Supreme Court held contributory liability requires intent shown by inducement or tailoring to infringement, and publishers opposed immediate dismissal while agreeing to a temporary stay.
