The Apple Studio Display could have been so much more

Apple’s refreshed Studio Display improves the webcam, speakers, and connectivity, but it still uses the same 60Hz panel.

At $1,600, the Studio Display remains expensive next to new 27-inch 5K monitors from BenQ, Asus, and KTC.

Those rivals undercut Apple on price while offering more practical stands, broader port choices, and better mixed Mac/Windows appeal.

The result is a more crowded 5K monitor market, where Apple no longer clearly leads on value or features.
