Is Proton Workspace the European alternative to Microsoft 365 and Google?

Proton launched a new Workspace suite designed to compete with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Before Workspace, Proton already offered business apps, including a Meet email app and Proton Docs as an alternative to Excel/Sheets.

The Proton suite does not include a full PowerPoint-style presentation application.

Proton uses a zero-knowledge model and client-side encryption so its server is encrypted/“blind”; unlike Google/Microsoft’s central-server processing, changes—especially to images and animations—are computed and synced on users’ own computers.

Proton is based and operates in Europe and therefore is not subject to U.S. CLOUD Act data requests.
