SoftBank's domestic battery business aimed at building power infrastructure for the AI era

SoftBank is launching a domestic battery and storage business to meet rising power demand from AI.

At its Sakai site, the company will build production lines linked to AI data centers and mass-produce battery and BESS systems in Japan.

It is jointly developing a safer new cell with COSMOS LAB and a high-density BESS with DeltaX.

The plan targets mass production in fiscal 2027 and more than 100 billion yen in sales by fiscal 2030.
