Google readies ‘AI Ultra Lite’ plan and explicit ‘usage limits’ for Gemini

Google appears to be testing a mid-tier Gemini plan, AI Ultra Lite, between its $20 Pro and $250 Ultra subscriptions.

Strings in the Gemini macOS app also point to a new usage dashboard that would show remaining token budget and limits.

The shift suggests Google wants clearer pricing and consumption tracking as heavy coding and agent workflows put pressure on existing plans.

It could help Gemini compete more directly with usage-based offerings from Anthropic and OpenAI.
