America Built an Ebola Response System After 2014. Here's How It Works

A new Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo prompted a WHO emergency declaration and U.S. travel and entry screening measures.

The U.S. is relying on a post-2014 hospital network built to detect, isolate, test, and safely transport suspected Ebola patients.

That system was strengthened after the Dallas 2014 case and includes special pathogen centers, biocontainment units, and CDC guidance.

Officials say the goal is to stop hospital spread and handle any imported cases quickly as infection risk rises.
