You’ll Want to Read this Final Fantasy 7 Remake Prequel Before Rebirth’s Switch 2 Release This Summer

Final Fantasy 7 Remake has recently been released on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S, and Rebirth launches on June 3.

The novel Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Traces of Two Pasts, by Kazushige Nojima, was first published in Japan in July 2021 and translated to English in March 2023.

The book is split into two halves focusing on Tifa and Aerith, with Aerith’s chapter referenced in Rebirth and offering extra context.

The novel is over 300 pages and includes traumatic scenes, and reading it can enhance but is not required for Rebirth.
