Like a Dragon studio reveals that Stranger Than Heaven will take place over five eras

Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the team behind the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series.

First shown as Project Century at The Game Awards in late 2024; the title was confirmed as Stranger Than Heaven in June 2025.

The game is set in Japan across five eras and five cities: 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965.

It will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch and supports Xbox Play Anywhere; an Xbox Presents broadcast on May 6 will share more details.

The studio released the first in‑game combat footage last August and is also working on the next Virtua Fighter.
