Microsoft’s new developer-optimized Windows embraces Linux even more

Microsoft unveiled developer-focused Windows 11 updates at Build, adding Linux-friendly command-line tools and setup improvements.

Windows Subsystem for Linux is getting deeper integration through WSL containers, alongside Coreutils support via uutils.

Microsoft also previewed an experimental Intelligent Terminal and made developer configurations generally available to streamline setup.

The changes aim to reduce friction between Windows, Linux, and container workflows, making Windows more appealing to developers.
